From the moment of his arrival in Sant'Agata Bolognese, engineer Giulio Alfieri did not stop working on the Countach updates. The 1982 5000S represented a happy synthesis of several years of research. The displacement of the new version went from 4 to 4.7 liters, reaching a considerable power for the time: 375 horsepower at 7000 rpm. Thanks to the 5000S, the sales of the Countach regained strength, passing from the 55 units in 1979 to the 108 in 1982 and to the 255 in 1985. The 5000S went out of production in 1985 to make way for the LP5000 Quattrovalvole, even more performing. On April 23, 1987, Chrysler made the official acquisition of Lamborghini. In October 1988, a special edition of the Countach was presented, celebrating the car's twenty-fifth anniversary. The aesthetic was retouched by Lamborghini stylist Horacio Pagani, who became an independent manufacturer in 1999. Quite criticized for the lack of balance in these aesthetic interventions, the Countach 25 also received an air conditioning system and electrically adjustable seats. The engine was the 5167cc V12 which produced 455 horsepower. The 25 was produced until April 1990.
