Hobby Boss 1/35 83899 SPz PUMA
Puma is a modern German tracked infantry fighting vehicle. The first prototypes were built in the mid-1990s, and serial production started in 2009 and is still ongoing. It is estimated that by the end of 2016, about 100 vehicles of this type were delivered to the Bundeswehr. The car is powered by an engine MTU V-10 diesel engine with 1,073 hp. It is armed with a single 30mm MK-30-2 automatic cannon, a single 5.56mm MG4 machine gun and a Spike anti-tank missile launcher.
The Puma was founded as the successor to the Marder infantry fighting vehicles. While designing it, the emphasis was placed on the level of armor, which is rare in this class of vehicles. The Puma is protected against a 14.5 mm small-caliber blade, and from the front and sides of the vehicle - against cannons up to 30 mm. The armor can also be increased by adding individual modules (known as ABC levels). Puma also has significantly enhanced survivability of mine detonation or the so-called fugasa. The vehicle also features strong armament and very advanced electronic systems and an FCC (fire control system), typical of the 3rd generation MBTs, and actually unheard of on IFVs! Puma also has good maneuverability and off-road mobility. It can also be transported by air in the Airbus A400M. Takes up to 6 landing troops. At present, the Puma is exclusively owned by the Bundeswehr.
